Candle Care 101: Tips for Keeping Your Candles Burning Bright

Trim Your Wick
Before lighting your candle, make sure to trim the wick to 1/4 inch. This will prevent the wick from smoking and causing the flame to flicker. Using a wick trimmer is the easiest way to trim your wick, but scissors will work too!
Let Your Candle Burn
When you light your candle for the first time, make sure to let it burn long enough for the wax to melt all the way to the edges of the container. This will prevent tunneling, which is when the wax only melts in the centre of the candle, leaving a thick ring of wax around the outside. It may take 2-4 hours for the wax to melt all the way to the edge on the first burn - so be patient!
Keep Your Candle Away from Drafts
Candles burn best when they are kept away from drafts. Drafts can cause the flame to flicker, which can lead to uneven burning and a shorter burn time.
Use a Candle Snuffer
Blowing out your candle can cause wax to spill over the sides of the container, so using a candle snuffer is a safer option. This will also prevent the wick from smoking and causing the flame to flicker.
Clean Your Candle
